CONSTRUCTION OF NEW “TRAILFINDERS BUILDING” GETS UNDERWAY

Thanks to the magnificent donation from The Mike Gooley Trailfinders Charity, the construction of another Modern Facility has started. To be known as “Trailfinders”, this new log clad building will sleep 40 and will be connected to the existing Maclean building making it a perfect indoor facility with Accommodation and indoor activity area combined.

Digging of the foundations was completed this week (thanks to the Clancy Group for providing the heavy plant). Drainage has been laid, Gas Water and Electric is all in place and once we receive the Building Inspectors approval concrete will be poured and we will be clear to have the Contractors on site to erect the building.

If all goes according to plan Trailfinders will be handed over on 1st June, just in time to receive its first visitors.

This is another sign of The Paccar Scout Camps forward thinking and constant improvement and evolution into an excellent 21st century Scouting Facility.

Help and support needed to Develop Buildings

Replace, upgrade and develop the buildings and facilities at Paccar Scout Campsite

There are many ways in which you can help and support Paccar Scout Camp:

• Show your support by becoming a member of Friends of Chalfont

• Receive the Paccar News newsletter and pass it on to others

• Attend our fundraising events which are publicised on this website

• Offer your time, skills, expertise and ideas on fundraising

• Offer to sponsor materials for our projects

• Let us know the names and addresses of others who might want to join the Friends of Chalfont, or assist with fund raising activities

Many people have told us how memorable their experiences at Paccar Scout Camp have been. Please Send us an email office@chalfont.org with your memories – recent or past – and we will include a selection in future newsletters We are sincerely grateful for all help – large and small.

If you are a U.K. tax payer, you can give your permission by filling in the Gift Aid section of the Gift Form so that we as a charity can reclaim the tax from your donation, increasing the value of your gift by 28p for every £1.

Campaign News

We are now focusing our attention on raising the funds to enable us to bring the site facilities and activities into the 21st Century.
